Perinet developed the first Single Pair Ethernet-based electronics for integration into sensors and actuators, worldwide.
Central to the development of the Perinet range is the periCORE SPE communication module.
The periCORE SPE communication module is designed for direct integration into simple sensors and actuators. The periCORE module is the central element in the Perinet Seamless IoT Connectivity System.
The periCORE SPE communication module with its small form factor is designed for installation by sensor and actuator original equipment manufacturers (OEMs).
The periCORE SPE communication module enables seamless integration of the field level into the IP world via Ethernet and transforms these passive devices into active, “smart” network nodes.
The periCORE SPE communication module network capability of field devices creates new potential for the efficient implementation of digitalisation projects and IoT, IIoT and Industry 4.0.
Perinet Smart Components
The Digitalisation of existing systems through simple equipment modification is key to the philosophy of Perinet GmbH.
The periCORE SPE communication module is integrated into Perinet’s Smart Components so that you can speed the process when retrofitting existing (brownfield) machine parks. With just two Smart Components, the seamless 1-to-1 connection of a sensor or actuator at the field level to IT systems can be established via Ethernet.
Even more complex systems with several sensors or actuators can be implemented quickly and economically with the help of Perinet Smart Components.
Perinet Smart Components reduce the components required for Sensor2Cloud systems and expand the functionality of the sensors and actuators while at the same time reducing the time and effort for implementing an IOT ready solution.
Perinet Smart Components include the following:
1) periSTART media converter is the interface between your existing infrastructure and the Perinet Seamless IOT Connectivity system.
2) periNODE smart adapters connect directly to sensors with 0-10V output, or PT100 temperature probes and also include a GPIO adapter. The periNODE smart adapter turns analogue, passive sensors into active components in a digital environment.
Other components available are:
1) periSWITCH 3-port switch which allows several sensors or actuators to be connected to the system.
2) periLINE hybrid the SPE cable connects Perinet Smart Components within the Seamless IOT Connectivity System.

periSTART standard media converter.
This periSTART media converter is the interface between your existing infrastructure and the Perinet Seamless IoT Connectivity system.
It converts between Fast Ethernet (100BASE-TX) and Single Pair Ethernet (100BASE-T1) thereby enabling seamless communication between the field level and your IT system or data hub and providing a 24VDC feed to attached sensors and actuators.
periSTART bundles data and power supply and transmits both to the Perinet Seamless IoT Connectivity system via the 4-wire periLINE hybrid SPE cable.
periNODE 0-10V Smart Adapter
This periNODE smart adapter connects directly to sensors with 0-10V signal output and M12 A-coded 4-pin connectors.
periNODE Pt100 Smart Adapter
This periNODE smart adapter connects directly to sensors with Pt100 3-wire signal output and M12 A-coded 4-pin connectors.
periNODE GPIO Smart Adapter
This periNODE smart adapter has 2 in-/output channels and connects directly to sensors or actuators with 24V GPIO via a 4*0.25mm2 cable.
periSWITCH 3-port Smart Adapter
This periSWITCH 3-port switch facilitates the series connection of multiple sensors and/or actuators.
periLINE hybrid SPE cable
The periLINE hybrid SPE cable connects Perinet Smart Components within the Seamless IoT Connectivity system.
It carries both data and power supply and, thereby, facilitates easy and straight-forward deployment.
